Recently unveiled, this new EP "Darkest Red" projects very beautiful things that promise to captivate fans of the genre. Although we cannot make comparisons with past material, the influences that emerge are more than evident for many of them. Often compared to giants such as Trivium, As I Lay Dying, the ends of Children Of Bodom and Lamb Of God, this five-track EP carries the pleasure of listening to well-crafted riffs through intense and emotional sounds, typical of metalcore overflowing with melody.

The eponymous title of the EP, "Darkest Red," combines heavy riffs and catchy melodies that intertwine to create an atmosphere that is both dark and exhilarating. The guitars of Tristan Jacobs and Pim Nijssen offer a fascinating duality between aggression and harmony, while the rhythm section, composed of Maurits Gresnigt on bass and Menno Boesten on drums, provides a solid and dynamic foundation that propels each piece.

The voice of Richard Robin stands out for its power and ability to switch from a piercing scream to melodic singing with remarkable ease. He embodies and accompanies his colleagues without masking the performances of the others. Are the lyrics a big part of the complacency and ease with which he transmits his moods so appealing to the ear? It is certainly a non-harmful asset, as the lyrics are well constructed.

Although "Darkest Red" is possibly not a customary listen for this blog, this EP will not fail to satisfy fans fond of melodic metalcore. It demonstrates a technical mastery of fusion between voice and instruments with an obvious passion for music that is felt through every note. Loyalty Ends Here has clearly put their whole heart into this project, and it would not be surprising to hear about it often in the coming years, provided they do not lose that beautiful fervor from the beginning.
