  1. You’re arriving with your third full album, « Rebuild. » What are still the biggest challenges a band faces in 2024 to release an album in this hardcore jungle and stand out?

First of all, thank you very much for doing this interview with us and all the time you put in the hardcore scene.

The biggest challenge we’ve faced was to remain a band in the first place as our guitar player decided to quit the band due to personal reasons. Luckily we found Jelmer to fill the gap and not much later also Luc as our second guitar player. We all just wanted to have fun and make the music that we love. We all have different backgrounds in music but we constantly find each other in oldschool hardcore.

When we start writing we always end up making fast hardcore with a little metallic edge to it. We would like to stand out as a very positive band who are very easy to talk to and hang out with during live shows. When we play live shows we are getting a lot of positive reactions. We will keep playing/making the music that we love!

 2. As you enter your 12th year, what are the key takeaways from your early days compared to your years in the studio?

It’s not really an easy question but I think the biggest difference is that we allow ourselves to take more time, especially in the studio, to make it all sound the way we want it to. With "Rebuild" we really took our time and made changes until everyone in the band was satisfied with the result.

 3. Even though you released a split with the band Only Attitude Counts in 2019, what explains the 7-year gap between the release of Rebuild and its predecessor from 2017, "Make It Last"?

The explanation is life in general. Our guitar player who decided to quit. Start over with Jelmer and Luc. Of course Corona which had real impact on music world wide. Our drummer had a baby which also took a lot of his time. When everything was under control we immediately started writing again but it took a little longer than we expected.

 4. Is there a connection between insomnia and self-discovery in the song “Insomnia”?

This song doesn’t have a positive twist to it but it’s about recognizing that there is a lot of chaos around you and it can be very hard to cope with. When you realize that, it can help you keep moving forward.

 5. What insights into personal growth can be found in “Keep Pushing”?

Life can be very hard and beat you down with no remorse. Keep pushing talks about not giving in and not giving up. Be strong, keep pushing, give it your all and fight for the things that matter most like family, friends & music.

 6. How does the band convey the struggle for authenticity in “The Way I Am”?

The real struggle is that there is a lot fake stuff in this world. A lot of people are trying to be something they are not. So no matter what the world throws at you, just remain your authentic self and be happy with it. Be loyal to yourself, stay young and keep doing what you love.

 7. How does “Rebuild” resonate with the human experience of struggle?

We are just a bunch of guys who struggle with the same things as everyone else in this world. We have the opportunity to let it all out in our lyrics and music so that’s what we do.

 8. Is there a message of hope and resilience woven throughout the entire album?

Yes, absolutely. We are a very positive band and even though we have our ups and downs we always try to give a positive turn to our lyrics. Friendship, respect & loyalty. You should always be ready to give everything you have to your loved ones and friends. Simply being there could make a huge difference in lives.

 9. What parallels exist between the album’s themes and real-world challenges?

I think the biggest parallel is that we hope people can relate to our struggles and the way we deal with it. If we can make a positive difference in only one life we’ve accomplished what we set out to do.

 10. Even though with each album, bands grow artistically over time, do you consider « Rebuild » to be the most comprehensive and the best album of your career?

Yes, definitely. Believe it or not but our songs became a bit more simple. Riffs are a bit easier and more oldschool than our previous releases but it also gives the music a more aggressive and oldschool feel. Now our music and lyrics seems to be more in balance and we also experience that when we play the songs live.

 11. What are your plans for the coming months? We imagine you’ll be hitting the road this summer with the new album?

It’s not easy for a small band to get to play a lot of shows but we are trying to take what we can and play as much shows as possible. Hopefully we can also play some festivals but we will see. For the time being "Rebuild" is only a digital release but we are working very hard on the vinyl release which should not take very long anymore and of course we are already writing new material.
