1. What are the titles of Swim Or Drown's two most recent albums?
We have two latest ep's, "Keep It Real" and "Torment". But we are working on new material as we speak.
2. Can you describe the musical style and themes explored in these albums?
The themes are very different. "Keep It Real" is more of an hardcore theme as in you gotta be real and true to yourself and others. En keep the spirit alive and against posers. But "Torment" is a more darker and personal record. Also the music that we play on these two ep's are different. "Torment" we play what ever we like to play and not try to be as hardcore as possible.
3. What are Swim Or Drown's upcoming projects or tours?
Not much going on. We have two shows. But we want (always more shows.)
4. Are there any collaborations or special events they have planned?
No nothing yet. Who knows in the future.
5. How did Swim Or Drown come up with their band name?
It comes from the song "Rise or Die" by Born From Pain. In the break down part there is a line that has swim or drown sung into it.
6. Does it hold any specific significance or symbolism?
Yes. First of all we love that song. And also this is how the world and society works.
7. How has being from the Netherlands influenced Swim Or Drown music and lyrics?
Personal things most of the time. Sometimes how i feel or how i think how fucked up things are in the world or. And how i see some things. And the music whatever we feel like we play.
8. Are there any Dutch cultural elements reflected in their work?
No, not that we know, haha.
9. What is the hardcore music scene like in Heerenveen, their hometown?
Heerenveen not so much. But in Leeuwarden the scene is very good.
10. Have they collaborated with other local bands or artists?
Yes in the past with Manu Armata. The singer wd did some vocals on our very first EP.
11. Which guitar brand(s) do the members of Swim Or Drown prefer?
LTD and Ibanez.
12. Would you like a guitar company to release signature guitar models?
We never really think about this stuff. But it sounds cool so maybe in the future.
13. The reviews of your most recent work, Trapped, seem to have resonated with people. Did you anticipate it would be so well-received?
Thanks. That is great to hear. No never, but we have some cool reviews. We just make music that we love and hope that people will like it.
14. Is 'Trapped' considered one of the heaviest songs Swim Or Drown has ever produced in their 15-year history?
Yes it is, we think that everything about this song is heavy lyrically and music wise. Everything is heavy about this song. And in the future we wil write more of this heavy songs.
15. On the same latest released. Are the lyrics of 'Human Scum' designed to evoke a sense of vigilance and attentiveness in the listener?
Yes that exactly what we want to do. Because we wreck the whole fucking world before our very own eyes. We are willing to kill other people for a god that we actually don't if it really exists. We lie to each other there are a few people in this world who you can trust. And so on.
