Embark on a journey through SmokeBomb's uncharted soundscape—a voyage that challenges conventions and invites you to delve into this philosophical interview.
1. How does SmokeBomb's fusion of different musical styles reflect their philosophical approach to creating a unique sound?
Our fusion of différents style such as Punk, Hip Hop, Hardcore, Funk, Metal show the diversity of our taste, musically but also in all aspect in life, and encourage listener to embrace diversity and innovation in all aspect in life.
We put no border in our music as we don’t want to have in our life.
2. What role does the punk mentality play in SmokeBomb's artistic expression and message?
We take a lot of the punk mentality as we are active members of the punk community since more than 20 years here in Belgium.
Therefore, we stand for the DIY ethos, the rebellion against social norms, the acceptations of all the differences and individuality, diversity and the power of self- expressions.
We took also a lot of the positive and empowering messages of bands like 7 seconds or Youth Brigade ( not to mention Bad Brain’s PMA).
3. How does SmokeBomb's exploration of the past contribute to their ability to create a new and distinctive sound?
We deep dive into every musical genres to learn from what’s good in every style we like and from there we try to do our own, new and distinctive sounds.
We take a lot of what bands like Downset, Hed PE, Beastie Boys or Suicidal Tendencies did in the past: Taking roots in punk hardcore but incorporing others musical flavors to create an unique sound.
4. In what ways does SmokeBomb's music challenge conventional notions of genre categorization?
As we said earlier we don’t put any border in SmokeBomb musical style and that’s what challenge the conventional notions of genre categorization. We come from scenes where there is a lot of Gatekeepers (at least for the image) and we want them to feel ok to listen to any other genre they like. As an individual has multiples identities, so does go for musical taste.
SmokeBomb encourages listeners to embrace a more fluid and open-minded approach to defining art.
5. How does featuring Jahred from (Hed) PE on their track "2gether" align with SmokeBomb's philosophy of collaboration and unity?
Collaborating with Jahred is first of all a dream come true for us as we really love (Hed) PE.
But it’s also reflect our sense of community and unity above any musical scene. We can come together despite differences in style or background to create something powerful and meaningful.
No matter who you are, where you come from, we can find something that connect us. We got the song and subject before the idea of featuring, and it was the perfect song to have him on.
6. What underlying messages or themes can be found in SmokeBomb's EP "The Smoke Of Bomb To Come"?
The EP title is a nod to Refused 1998’s album. We love to spread nod of our overall influences all over. But it’s also represent the fact that we are only at the beginning of SmokeBomb journey and that there’s way more things to explore thru the project. There’s so many road to explore and we want to ride them all, as long as they fit with SmokeBomb’s State of mind. SmokeBomb subjects are not really define but always represent us, what we love, and what we want.
7. How does SmokeBomb's use of groove in their music contribute to the overall impact and effectiveness of their sound?
The way our songs are create often start from a funky or groovy bassline. That give an strong foundation where you can build a song around and put subtle and complex instrumentals on.
The fact that we put some groove on it give more depth and more impact to our sound.
We see that people tend to dance more on the groovy part and then mosh on the punk hardcore part. We have a dancefloor aswell as a mosh pit.
8. How does SmokeBomb's fusion of punk with other genres reflect a broader philosophical belief in the power of diversity and cross-pollination?
The openmindness of our musics reflect our openmindness of every day life. Our music show that different genres can coexist harmoniously, mirroring the idea that diverse individuals can come together to create something greater than the sum of its parts. It create acceptance and tolerance and we gather people from different background.

10. In what ways does SmokeBomb's philosophy of fusing styles align with broader philosophical concepts such as postmodernism or eclecticism?
Indeed, we want to push the boundaries as far as possible and we put no limit in our project.
In a sense, that can be view as ecliticism or postmodernism. But we never thought in that sense. We just freely create something that we love and that something has no boundaries.
11. How might SmokeBomb's exploration of various genres through their music invite listeners to question preconceived notions or biases they have about different musical styles?
Even if it’s better now, there’s still a lot of stereotypes on one or another genre of music.
So yeah by fusing and exploring various genres through music, we encourages listeners to challenge their own biases and embrace music for what it is rather than what they think it is.
Sometimes, people don’t let themself listen to one particular genres because they got biases on it, so we open a door for them and as we talk about our influences, we give them the opportunity to explore a new musical genres.
12. How does SmokeBomb's philosophy of creating a unique sound through fusion mirror larger philosophical ideas about individuality and self-expression?
The way we fuse our influences in SmokeBomb is the same way we fuse our influences in our life, having multiple identities making us unique. Therefore we become the self expression of our own individuality rather than reflect ourself thru a group or community.
13. In what ways might SmokeBomb's music serve as a catalyst for personal and societal transformation?
Through the concept of SmokeBomb, we want to inspire listeners to question the status quo, challenge the societal norms, and seek personnal growth or change. We want people to feel they can be themself and be their own inspirations without carrying about what others might think or say.

By drawing inspiration from a diverse range of bands like Suicidal Tendencies, Cypress Hill, Downset, Wu Tang Clan, Biohazard, 7 Seconds, Souls Of Mischief, and the list goes on, SmokeBomb weaves together a complex musical fabric that reflects their broad artistic influences and creates a unique sonic experience.
15. How might SmokeBomb's philosophy of blending genres with a punk mentality extend beyond their music into other aspects of their lives or creative endeavors?
Just as SmokeBomb fuses musical styles with a punk mentality, we also approach life in general with a similar mindset, to go against conformity, standing for diversity and indivuality and the pursuit of genuine self-expression.
